The best choice for solid conservatory roof

The Installation Process: What to Expect When Replacing Your Conservatory Roof

Most of our tiled conservatory roof conversions are completed in just 2 to 3 days. Here is the step-by-step physical build process carried out by our fitting team:

Step 1: Structural Inspection & Site Protection

Our team arrives on site and immediately places protective coverings over your conservatory flooring, furniture and surrounding garden areas. We conduct a final structural check to ensure window frames and wall plates are ready for the new roof.

Step 2: Old Roof Removal & Recycling

We carefully dismantle and remove your existing glass or polycarbonate roof panels. All old materials are hauled away and recycled responsibly, leaving a clean structure ready for transformation.

Step 3: Fitting the Lightweight Timber Framework

We securely anchor our bespoke, custom-cut timber framework directly onto your existing frame. Timber is naturally non-conductive, eliminating cold-bridging and guaranteeing long-term thermal efficiency.

Step 4: Weatherproofing & External Tiling

A fully breathable, waterproof membrane is installed over the rafters, followed by tile battens and your chosen lightweight exterior tiles. Once the tiles and ridge caps are fixed, your conservatory is 100% watertight before the end of the day.

Step 5: Multi-Layer Insulation & Plaster Ceiling Finish

From inside, we fit high-performance insulation boards and reflective multi-foil blankets between the rafters. We run any planned spotlight cabling, install insulated plasterboard overhead and plaster-skim the ceiling for a smooth room finish ready for painting.
